Great Egret
Waterford, CT 2021
My bird photography leaves much to be desired. I think this is a great egret. One can never get close enough or have a longer lens available.

Olive Oyl's
Essex, CT 2021
A nice repurposing of a classic service station. They just have a different type of oil now.

Regina M
Mystic, CT 2021
The Regina M is a "carry-away" boat built in 1900 for the purpose of catching herring and sardines for the cannery industry in Maine. After the demand for herring subsided the ship came to Mystic Seaport in 1941 and underwent restoration so that she resembles what she looked like as an auxiliary powered carry-away boat of the 1910-1925 era.

Shenandoah
Mystic, CT 2021
Here is one of a number of current restoration/preservation projects being undertaken at the Henry B. DuPont Preservation Shipyard. The Shenandoah was built in 1957 at the Harvey Gamage Shipyard in South Bristol, ME. Since the mid '80's the schooner has provided educational voyages to over 5000 kids from Martha's Vineyard. You can read more about the Shenandoah's programs at www.fuelprogram.org.

Ring
Mystic, CT 2021
I thought this part of an anchor would have a much more colorful, nautical term, but I think it's only called a "ring".

Kingston II
Mystic, CT 2021
It's nice to see that things are returning to normal here in Connecticut. One year ago mask mandates were the norm as pictured here. The Kingston II, must have gotten her shot.

Velvet Mill Artwork
Stonington, CT 2021
The Velvet Mill is actually an old velvet mill, now repurposed into a space that houses cafes, restaurants, a brewery, various artists' studios and other craft studios. They always have art on display as well. I found this interesting.

Square Peg Pizzaria
Manchester, CT 2021
What a cool idea for using a vintage 1951 fire truck! You can see the wood-fired pizza oven on the back. I can't vouch for how good the pizza is though.
