Sculpture

East Hartford, CT  2016

I found this interesting sculpture along the Lincoln Financial Sculpture Walk at the Great River Park in East Hartford, CT.   There are a series of sculptures on both sides of the river depicting various events in the life of Abraham Lincoln.  This sculpture is entitled "The Circuit Rider" and is by Peter Busby depicting Lincoln's time as a circuit rider.  The transparency gives the sculpture a ghostly appearance which even is more apparent when photographed.

Founder's Bridge

Hartford, CT  2015

This is the second of three bridges spanning the Connecticut River in Hartford. This bridge carries CT Route 2 across the river.  The view is looking sout east into the city of East Hartford.  I need to return to Hartford to capture the third bridge.

Bulkeley Bridge

Hartford, CT  2015

Originally dedicated in 1908, this bridge crosses the Connecticut River and connects the communities of Hartford and East Hartford, CT.   I think it looks pretty good for a bridge over a 100 years old. .

Game Day

East Hartford, CT

I'm not a big fan of UCONN football, but I did attend their last game of the season yesterday.  Temperatures didn't get out of the 30's during the game.  That's real football weather.  Although UCONN had a disappointing 3-9 season, they did end on a high note, winning their last 3 games, including yesterday's 45-10 win over the Memphis Tigers.
