I like the repetitions in this photo very much. Three lamp posts with different heights in different distances to each other. Three blue cars parked in different distances to each other. Three hand rails in different ... you get the point. You should have taken away the fourth planter on the left - next time bring a forklift with you ;-)
Thank you for the comment, Martina. You have a wonderful eye for looking at photos. I wish I could claim that purposely included all those objects to make the composition you describe, but my eye was fixated on the Union Station building. Thank you for pointing this out to me. It will help me make stronger images in the future.
Hmm, difficult to explain but I think you did this purposely. Not by an intellectual decision but by instinct and talent. The more we look at other people's photographs and the more we take photographs ourselves the more we internalise all these things: geometry, symmetry, correspondencies, contrasts, differences. At least that is what I think ;-) I don't think I expained this very good, though :-(
