I was never a big fan of the TV series "The Dukes of Hazzard", (1979-1985) which featured this automobile, "The General Lee". I will admit to every now and then watching just to see the leggy Catherine Bach, as "Daisy Duke" wearing those denim shorts.
At the beginning, it was filmed in Covington, Georgia, just one town over from Conyers, where I live! Like you, not a big fan, but hey, you have to keep up with pop culture so you know what people are talking about! :-)
ReplyDelete(P.S. I have a photo of myself posing in front of a car just like this one, but not in cut off shorts! HA HA)
And from reading your blog, that picture might have been from a distance, as you stated. :)
DeleteThe TV series may have used over 300 1968-1969 Dodge Charger RT cars during their filming. There were many small variations on the cars they used, and many of these cars were destroyed in filming the long jumps they were famous for showing. The car became a star of the show. Many more cars were created for the 2005 Dukes of Hazard movie. Hard to tell if this one is an original or a recreation.
