Merry Go Round

Watch Hill, RI  2021


The Merry Go Round at Watch Hill has been in continuous operation here since 1893.  It was built in 1867 and supposedly was brought to Watch Hill by a carnival and abandoned here in 1893.  It's on the National Registry of Historic Places and is thought to be the oldest continuously operating carousel in the United States. I'll have to come back when it is open for the season.
