WG
Mystic, CT 2021
Housed in an old velvet mill, the Mystic Seaport Collection Research Center is home to over two million examples of maritime art, artifacts, tools, buildings, imprints and other documents. Also stored here are hundreds of historic boats. Researchers can make an appointment to visit the CRC, but during the Wooden Boat Show weekend, it was open to the public. These boats are for research purposes only, and are not displayed. I spent a good amount of time wandering amongst the boats, all catalogued and organized. I hope to give some sense of what can seen here in the next few posts.

Kingston II
Mystic, CT 2021
It's nice to see that things are returning to normal here in Connecticut. One year ago mask mandates were the norm as pictured here. The Kingston II, must have gotten her shot.

The Fleet
Stonington, CT 2010
I think I remember reading somwhere that Stonington, CT is the only town in Connecticut that still has a commercial fishing fleet.

Kingston II
Mystic, CT 2020
The historic tugboat, Kingston II, has graced the main entrance to Mystic Seaport for a number of years. The Seaport recently re-opened, with free admission for this week, under new health and safety guidelines limiting it's total capacity. None of the buildings or historic ships were open, but one was free to walk the grounds. As can be seen here, everyone has to wear a mask.
