Colin's Sports

Waxhaw, NC  2021

Colin, on the other hand, never had any interest in soccer, much preferring  baseball and lacrosse.

This was a busy day for Colin, playing a baseball game at 9:00am followed by a lacrosse match at 11:00am.  I wish I had his energy!

Clara the Soccer Player

Waxhaw, NC  2021

Grandkids these days are very busy.  Neither of my daughters had any interest in playing soccer but participated in girls softball and basketball.  So I'm not sure where Clara got her love of playing soccer.

Meet the Cahill Family

Charlotte, NC  2021

You met Colin and Clara yesterday.  Here they are with their proud parents, Mary, my youngest daughter  and her husband, Billy.  Nice looking family, if I do say so myself.

Clara

Toms River, NJ  2017

I'm always disappointed when I try to photograph people. I rarely get shots with which I'm truly satisfied.  However one can look past my shortcomings as a portrait photographer when the subject just happens to to be cutest granddaughter in the world.  Of course, I'm just a little bit biased.

Giving Thanks

Colin, Age 3

Clara, Age 1
Niantic, CT 2016

I was thankful this Thanksgiving to spend time with my grandchildren.  I don't see them often enough.  I think they liked being with grandpa.

Clara Ann

Meet Clara Ann Cahill who arrived on June 15, 2015, weighing in at 7 lbs, 11 oz and 19 inches tall.  Both mom, dad and big brother Colin are doing fine.

I got to meet Clara Ann this past Wednesday, when these pictures were taken.

The Team

Norwich, CT

Despite a valiant effort from the Newington High School Baseball team, they fell to Worthington on this day, by a score of 4-2, in extra innings.  To paraphrase that epic baseball poem:

"There is no joy in Newington"

On a good note, however, Nick did not strike out.

At First Base

Norwich, CT

Here's Nick at first base.  I wasn't keeping score, and didn't note if he got to first base as a result of a hit, fielder's choice or a walk.  He looks pretty intense, studying the pitcher.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there.  I'm sure everyone thinks that their mom is the best mom in the world.  I'm sure they're right too.  I just wanted to share with you this picture of my mother, who truly is the best mother anyone could have.  I love you mom.

The Catcher

Norwich, CT

This is no ordinary catcher.  Meet Nick Sanford, the catcher for the Newington High School baseball team.  Nick is finishing his senior year in high school and will be attending American International College next fall with a baseball scholarship.  Nick is the step-son of my oldest daughter, so I guess I can claim him as sort of an "unofficial" grandson.  In any event, he's a great kid and we're all proud of him.  I recently enjoyed watching him play against nearby rivals Worthington High School.  Here are some shots of him behind the plate.

After trying my hand at taking photographs of this game, I can really appreciate how difficult it is to to do great sports photography.  I'll be posting some more pictures of Nick and this game later this week.

Happy Mother's Day

Four Generations

On this Mother's Day, I thought it would be appropriate to celebrate and honor all the mothers in the world with this post of my favorite mothers.  Of course, I am a little biased.  From left to right:  My wife, (mother of my two wonderful daughters), my mother,  and my daughter (mother of my grandson).     I wish I could take credit for the photo, but I've never been very good at photographing people.  This particular photo was taken at a recent family gathering by my sister, using my camera though.

I hope all the mothers have a very nice Mother's Day.
