Our first stop of the day for a tasting was here at Palmer Winery in Riverhead, NY. The wine industry in Long Island is relatively young, compared to the other great wine producing regions of the US and the world. The first winery opened in only 1973. Today there are 56 producers of wine located on Long Island.

The weather this week has been crazy here in Connecticut. This photo was taken last Sunday on what was a very pleasant winter day with very moderate temperatures. Yesterday the temps were in the mid 50's ℉. Today we had a major blizzard that dumped any where from 8 to 17 inches of snow throughout the state. Tomorrow it will be cold with some more snow in the forecast. Thus is winter in New England.

Chairs in a Row

Both my wife an I enjoy having a glass of wine on a nice Sunday afternoon enjoying the scenery afforded by the local wineries. On a warmer Sunday afternoon, these chairs would have been filled with people. Not so, on this particular, cool and windy Sunday.
