Holidays at the Seaport
Mystic Seaport, Mystic, CT 2015
During the holidays at the Seaport, if there's a mast....they put a Christmas Tree atop it. They were still all atop these masts on Jan 1. I've been told they are all down now.
One of the ships, the Star of India, had its top foremast removed, but the HMS Surprise was all intact with no Christmas trees aboard. But perhaps it is just too late in the season.

I've found a couple tall ships this week, but none of them have Christmas trees on their foremasts. Perhaps this is only an east coast custom?
ReplyDeleteCould be, but perhaps they've already been taken down. I've never seen it anywhere else though.
