Mystic River Bank Building

Mystic, CT   2015

This was originally the Mystic River Bank, which was chartered in 1851 and became a National Bank in 1864.  This building was built in 1931, replacing the original Greek Revival structure which was built in 1851. The Mystic River Bank merged with the Hartford National Bank in 1950.  Today this stately structure is just a mere branch of the Bank of America.

  1. Banks certainly have gone through many mergers. Don't know how much longer our local bank can avoid being absorbed into one of the major banks. Beautiful building, a symbol of stability.
