This 140 mm Spanish canon is from the Spanish Flagship Marie Teresa that was taken in the Spanish-American war. The ship had 10 of these guns and only two were salvaged, this one, and one now in Ottumwa, Iowa. The only time it was fired in anger was against the American Cruiser Brooklyn. BTW, much of the Spanish ammunition for these guns was defective.
