There are a number of historic buildings along the waterfront in New London. Depending upon which sign you read and believe, this is either the Royal Hotel, or the Hotel Royal. I'm not sure why there's a discrepancy but in any event, at one time I bet this was a nice place to stay.
That is a classy 1897 building which must have been high style in the 19th Century. Looks like this hotel has fallen on hard times.
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot buildings that have fallen on hard times in New London, although there are efforts to preserve them as well. At least they all haven't fallen to the wrecking ball.
