Chris Craft

Mystic Seaport, Mystic, CT

If I ever have the chance to own a power boat, I think it would have to be a Chris Craft.  I've always admired the older Chris Craft's made of mahogany wood.  They are truly classic boats.  I'm pretty sure today's Chris Craft boats have fiber glass hulls, but they still look very elegant.

  1. Oh, my nephew and I were just speaking today of these old beauties. Have you ever been to Lake Placid, NY? They are quite popular there. My nephew just restored an old, somewhat rare, but not wooden, Chris Craft and then he sold it for quite a profit. He is the only person I know who makes money with boating. He buys them cheap, fixes them up, uses them, then sells them.

    1. Yes, I've been to Lake Placid. I think these boats are pretty popular all throughout the Adirondak area of NY. The wooden ones are really beautiful and seem more suited to sailing on lakes than out on the ocean. Your nephew must be a talented man to be able to restore these boats. Thanks for visiting my blog.

  2. When I was about 8 or 9 I used to look at the Chris Craft ads in the back of National Geographic and dream about owning one of these mahogany beauties. Hasn't happened yet, but I'm still hopeful. A Gar Wood would be even better, but only if I win the lottery.
