Wendy's Place

Chatham, MA

We found this unusual park bench in Chatham, MA.  It looks very inviting and quite comfortable, even though it was made of granite.  It was a lovely spot to sit and rest.  Wendy must have been well loved to be memorialized with such a bench.

Cupola Garden

Falmouth, MA

This cupola serves as a centerpiece for the Cupola Garden,  a garden maintained by the Falmouth Garden Club.  I'm not sure if it serves a another purpose or not

Main Street Barbershop

Falmouth, MA

I found this pretty colorful barbershop in Falmouth, MA.  I don't think I've seen a barbershop displaying 6 barber poles before, and on top of that, there was a pretty good reflection in the window.  I'm linking this to Weekend Reflections.  Have a nice weekend everyone.

Stainless Steel Art

Hyannis, MA

I think just about every stainless steel kitchen utensil imaginable went into this creation.

A Vacation in Every Pint

Falmouth, MA

Whenever I travel, I like to sample any local craft brews that I might happen to find.  I couldn't resist buying a "growler" of Cape Cod Beer, which is brewed in Hyannis, and I believe is the only microbrewery on the cape.  I purchased their Beach Blonde Ale, and had a number of vacations during the week following my visit to Cape Cod.  It's a good thing it's only available on Cape Cod, and some other towns close to the cape, otherwise, I'd be on vacation a lot.

Signs of the '50's

Falmouth, MA

I think both these objects look like they came directly out of the '50's.  The neon sign is a classic.  I'm sure some of my more mature readers will recognize the the object pictured in the lower picture.

Gorton Pond

Niantic, CT

I drive by this pond everyday and have often noticed the wonderful reflections found in the early mornings and evenings when the water is still.  Today, I finally made it down to the pond on foot after a nice long hike and was able to take some nice pictures.  I'm linking this to Weekend Reflections  where you'll find some other very nice reflections.  Have a nice weekend and thanks for looking.

So Long to Summer

Chatham, MA

Today at 10:49am, EDT, autumn officially arrives in the Northern Hemisphere, while spring begins for those of you living south of the equator.  With summer officially ending, I thought I would post some beach scenes to give readers something to remember this summer.  Autumn is my favorite season of the year.  The weather is still warm, but nights and early mornings are crisp.  The leaves will change color soon, baseball playoffs are coming, and football season is underway.  Pretty soon the holiday season will be upon us.  I hope everyone enjoyed their summer and will enjoy the fall season.

Chatham, MA

I wanted to pump some water here, but this was just an ornament.

Bug

Chatham, MA

I'm not sure exactly what kind of flying insect this sculpture is meant to represent.  It sort of looks like a butterfly.  I guess that would make it an Iron Butterfly..... wasn't there a rock group by that name?

Cape Cod Sunset

North Falmouth, MA

I recently spend a weekend at a resort on Cape Cod.  The resort featured a nice beach and we were treated to some spectacular sunsets while we were there.  I find it hard to properly capture a sunset and on this occasion I was able to do some experimenting with various exposure settings.  Even though I'm satisfied with these images, they still don't quite capture the experience of being there.
