First Snow
Niantic, CT 2019
See? I told you so. We didn't get as much snow as some areas of Connecticut. Being only a mile or so from Long Island Sound, our temperatures were fairly moderate, resulting in more rain than snow.

This is today's view from my backyard patio. We're expecting some snow tonight, so tomorrow this should look much different. I guess winter has finally arrived in SE Connecticut.

Long Island Sound
Rocky Neck State Park, Niantic, CT 2019
One from the archives..... A number of things have kept me from getting out to photograph. Now the weather is going to be a factor as winter is approaching. So this week, I'll be reviewing my photos looking for those that didn't make my first cut, in choosing photos to post here.

The Mayflower II, a replica of the original Mayflower, has been undergoing restoration at Mystic Seaport. The restoration is nearly complete. It will soon return to Plimouth Plantation in time to celebrate the 400th Anniversary of the Pilgrims coming to America.

USS Sequoia - The Presidential Yacht
New London, CT 2019
To seek shelter from some pretty rough weather, The USS Sequoia was recently docked in New London on her way to Maine for restoration. This yacht served during the administrations of Presidents Hoover up until Jimmy Carter.

Angry Sound
Niantic, CT 2019
There were high winds in the northeast this week due to a "bomb cyclone". It made for some pretty big waves along our beach in Niantic. I have rarely seen Long Island Sound this rough.

Driftwood Sculpture
Niantic, CT 2019
For some reason, I don't think these pieces of driftwood just happened to be placed just like this solely due to the forces of wind and surf.
