Curtis-Wright TP-40N Warhawk
Groton, CT 2019
Recently there was a display of vintage WW II aircraft at the Groton-New London Airport. There are not too many of these planes still flying, so it was great to see them up close.
One of my favorite WW II fighter planes. Made many wood and paper models of this plane as a kid. While living in Kunming, China we were next door to the Flighting Tiger Bar that was filled with AGI memorability.
This is one of my favorites as well. While living in Kalamazoo, we frequently saw a P-40 warhawk that was owned by the Kalamazoo Air Zoo Museum and flown by the museum's founder and ex-WASP, Sue Parish. It was featured in many air shows In Kalamazoo and was very recognizable since it was pink. Currently that P-40 is on display in the Kalamazoo Airport terminal.

DeleteWow, a pink P-40 certainly would stand out. Good to know it is on display in a safe place.
