If this is where I think it is, there is a sign on the pillar showing the high water levels during some of the historic Connecticut River floods.
Yes, you're right. I did see that sign and even photographed it, but afterwards I didn't the photo was all that interesting, other than the fact that it marked the average height of the spring floods.
