Providence Building

Providence, RI  2015

Providence is a pretty historic city with a wide variety of architecture seen.  I'm not sure what this building is, but it is one of the taller buildings near the financial district in downtown Providence.

Transportation Department

Providence, RI  2015

This building is right across the street from the state house,  pictured in yesterday's post.  For such a small state, Rhode Island does have a pretty large building housing its Transportation Department.

State Capitol

Providence, RI  2015

I get to Hartford frequently, but have yet to photograph the state capitol of Connecticut.  I'll have to fix that real soon.  I was in Providence, Rhode Island today and was able to capture some nice images of Rhode Island's State Capitol.  The official name of Rhode Islands is "The State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations".

Bigfoot

New London, CT  2015

Not one of my favorite "murals" seen in New London.  It is pretty colorful though.

Columbia and Oliver Hazard Perry

New London, CT 2015

Consider this post my feeble attempt to hang on to the warm days of summer while holding off winter's chill.  I will admit though, Fall in Connecticut has been very nice this year.

More Schooners

New London, CT  2015

The last post I made containing a boat was made on Oct 28.  I'd say it's time for a few more images of schooners under sail.

CLA Engineers

Norwich, CT  2015

I normally like to post pictures that I've taken recently, but lately I have not had too much time to get out and shoot.  With no recent images to share, I've been looking back in the "archives" to see if I can come up with a gem or two that I might have overlooked.  This was taken back in September.  It was still summer then.

Mystic River Park

Mystic, CT  2015

I've been pretty busy lately and have had little time to get out and do photography.  I haven't even been able to keep up with daily posts to this blog.  I hope to get back to a regular posting schedule soon.  As always, thanks for looking.

H&L's Place

Norwich, CT  2015

There are many historic buildings in Norwich and all seem to be eligible for some kind of financial assitance as part of revitalization program.  I see some hints of revitalization in Norwich, but there still is much that can be done.

Back Roads

Uncasville, CT  2015

If I stopped every place I see a photo opportunity, I'd never get anywhere.

Buoy

New London, CT  2015

I've been using more of my wide angle lens lately, and I'm liking the results.  It gives a different look to things that I have photographed in the past, like this buoy in front of the Custom House and Maritime Museum in New London, which was also pictured here.

Murals

New London, CT  2015

This wall has been depicted in this blog on a couple of occasions.  I don't recall seeing the mural of Jimi Hendrix the last time I photographed this wall.  I looked through all my earlier photos of this building and sure enough, the mural of Jimi Hendrix was not present.

Chaplin

New London, CT  2015

The Capitol Theater on Bank Street in New London has been closed since 1974.  I'm sure that at one time it must have been the center of entertainment in the city.  Today, only the murals on the boarded-up entrances, depicting the stars of stage and screen, give any hint that there is a theater inside.
