Afternoon Wine Tasting

Newport, RI

Not only does the Adele Turner Inn offer a fine place to sleep and a hearty breakfast, typical of the B&B's throughout New England, on Saturday afternoons, they offer a complimentary wine tasting.  We were offered three varieties of wine from a local vineyard along with fruit, cheese, and crackers.  It was the perfect way to end a day of sight seeing around Newport before our dinner that evening at one of the many fine restaurants in the area.

  1. It's very interesting to look at the photo's larger version. Though there is noise this noise somehow amplifies the brightness of and the reflections in the glasses. A nice effect and a very atmospheric photo. Even without the text I would have thought: Oh, he liked that! He like the place, he liked the mood, he liked the wine.

    1. Thank you for your comments, Martina. I always find them very insightful. I missed out on the joy of doing photography with film, and I find it fascinating that today that there is quite an effort being made to recreate the look of some of the classic films digitally complete with the grain. In this case I used a plug-in for Aperture 3 which recreates the look of Illford HPS Black and White film. I sampled a lot of different effects before deciding that I liked this one the best. You're right though, Martina. I did enjoy the place, the mood, and the wine. Most importantly however was sharing this time with my wife.
