Nice Varnish
Mystic, CT
Some of these wooden boats look so good, one wonders if they ever get put into the water. It certainly is a labor of love to keep these boats looking as good as they do.
That is a beauty! A couple of years ago I attended a wooden boat show on the Connecticut River in Essex. There were maybe 30 gorgeous wooden boats. Even though I know nothing about boats, I was captivated by the beauty and the artistry of the workmanship.
These highly varnished mahogany speed boats are a feast for the eye, despite the hard work to keep them in top condition. We can dream of a classic Chris Craft, or even better, a Garr Wood boat in the same way we can dream of a Rolls Royce or a classic Bugatti car.
It would be a shame not to enjoy the glint of sunshine off the water in this boat. I'm sure the proud owner enjoys all that polishing!
