Bug

Chatham, MA

I'm not sure exactly what kind of flying insect this sculpture is meant to represent.  It sort of looks like a butterfly.  I guess that would make it an Iron Butterfly..... wasn't there a rock group by that name?

  1. Yes, Iron Butterfly was a 1960s rock group perhaps best known for their song "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" which was about 30 minutes long. My friend Will was a disk-jockey back then and would put it on and take a break. Good colors in your photo.

  2. That's right, now I remember. I didn't follow rock music all that closely as a youth, but I do remember In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida. If i remember correctly it had a very unique intro played on a Hammond organ. Thanks for jogging my memory.
