Hewitt Flyfishing Pond
North Stonington, CT
This is a view of the pond mentioned in my previous post. It's also known as Gallup Pond. I've never done any fly fishing, but might pick it up as a retirement activity, just so I can spend some time at this hidden pond.
Ed, have a friend from Colorado who is a fly fisherman, and he assures me it has very little to do with fish. In fact, he seldom puts his flies in water, and if he does actually catch a trout, it is carefully and immediately released back into the stream. He just enjoys tying flies and walking along mountain streams. Fine excuse for a walk in the woods.
I agree with you totally. I can't say that I've done a lot of fishing in my life, mainly because I don't like to eat fish. I would be perfectly content to catch fish all day, and release them. Not only would it be an excuse to walk in the woods, but it would be a great excuse to get out on a boat as well.
