Faux Barn

Mystic, CT  2017

I'm not sure if this barn is real, or a replica made to look like it's from the 1700's.  My guess is it's a reproduction.

Old Barn

Stonington, CT  2015

I pass a lot of barns as I travel throughout southeast Connecticut.  There are many I would like to stop and photograph, but oftentimes I don't have a safe place along the road to pull over.  I passed this one a couple of weeks ago and there was a good place to pull over off the road to make some photographs.  This barn has seen better days.

Jonathan Edwards Winery

North Stonington, CT

Followers of this blog know of my fondness of Jonathan Edwards wines and their winery in North Stonington.  I've featured many pictures from the vineyards here in this blog.  I always thought the tasting room/barreling/bottling building, which used to be a dairy barn, would make a great photo rendered in black and white.

Hopkins Vineyard

New Preston, CT  2015

My wife and I discovered Hopkins Vineyard on a recent weekend get-away to explore the northwest part of Connecticut, in particular, Litchfield County.  This vineyard has been in the same family now for over 225 years and was converted from a dairy farm into a vineyard in 1971.   Needless to say, we sampled some of their offerings and walked away with a number of bottles.  I apologize for the poor quality of these photos.  That's not digital noise you see, but snow.... on the first day of spring too!
