The Canada goose population has expanded dramatically. They are a noble, but feisty bird that can hold their own against many predators. This one does seem to be posing.
You're right. I remember rarely seeing a canada goose when I was growing up in New Jersey back in the '60's. Now the are everywhere, and in some places a real nuisance.
