Hiatus

Madison, CT  2018

Regular followers of this blog might have noticed that my posts have been rather sporadic in 2018.  I see that my last post was dated March 19, and since I started blogging, this has been the longest stretch of time between posts.  For a number of reasons, I've decided to take a break from blogging, at  least for the next month.  I think my photos have become a bit stale, and I find myself returning to photograph the same subjects.  Weather has been a factor the last two months, not allowing good opportunities to photograph and I've had some health issues to deal with as well.  So I think a break will do me good.  I would like to thank all my followers for visiting, reading and commenting on my photos.  I do appreciate it, and I will continue to follow all your posts as well, and will comment from time to time.  They serve to inspire me.  I do plan to resume regular posting, but it won't be for awhile.  Thanks!

Fun with Filters

Madison, CT  2017

I don't use a lot of filters, or presets in processing my digital photos, but every now and then I run across a scene that really calls for a vintage type look.  This old house on the outskirts of Madison, CT has been unoccupied for years and is showing its age.  I think it is over 100 years old.

Face and Owl

Madison, CT  2017

I would think these two sculptures were done by the same artist.  Similar forms and materials were used.

Blue Sculpture

Madison, CT  2017

The sculpture walk in Madison had some very interesting pieces, but I could fine no names or artists for the individual sculptures.  Some were obviously done by the same artist, with the same materials. This one was rather unique, however.

Key Bank Courtyard

Madison, CT  2017

I recently did some exploring through the shoreline communities in Connecticut and spent a few hours enjoying the downtown/business area of Madison, CT.  The main street in Madison is US Route 1, also known as Boston Post Road.  Tucked between the businesses there is this courtyard which features a number of interesting sculptures, although none had any attributions from what I could see.  I'll be featuring some of the more interesting sculptures this week.

No Place to Fish

Hammonasset State Park, Madison, CT  2015

A good portion of the shoreline in Connecticut looks just like this.  The are some nice beaches interspersed amongst the rocks however.  Makes it pretty difficult to find a good fishing spot.
