Old Building Revisited

Norwich, CT

I had photographed this building about 2 years ago and posted in this blog here.  Back then I thought the building would not last much longer.  I was surprised recently seeing the building still standing, however  it doesn't appear that much has happened with the site, either with further demolition or renovation.  In stark contrast to this building, the angular building rising above the tree line in the background is the Mohegan Sun Casino, which is where the region's wealth lies today.

  1. Poured concrete buildings like this one which are abandoned in China quickly become homes for the homeless. People move into them, build flimsy walls, and create apartments with no heat, water, sewer, or electricity. The structure will likely stand, at least until the next earthquake.

    1. Earthquakes are rare, but not unheard of in Connecticut, so I think the building will remain. There is activity around the building and fences as well, so I don't think it will be sheltering any homeless people either.
