Wooden Boat Weekend Reflections

Mystic Seaport

There are no shortages of nice reflections a couple of weekends ago at the Wooden Boat Show.  This is one of the better reflections I was able to capture.  It helps when you get into the seaport earlier in the morning, while the water is still and there are not a lot of crowds.  I'm posting this also at Weekend Reflections, hosted by James.  Thanks for looking and enjoy your weekend.

  5. Lovely reflection-know all about the getting out early for stillness! You've captured this beautifully. Saw your profile-I used to be into barbership and still say "Go Irish!" Have a great weekend.

  8. You have another excellent wooden boat shot. Looks like there is room for two or three to row and one to skipper with the rudder. Looks like a fast row boat. Perfect reflection.

  9. Great reflection! With water smooth as glass and no one to rock the boat.

  10. Beautifully done, Ed. If I had known that you like wooden boats, I would have let you know about the show at Essex in early July. You might put it on your calendar for next year.

Thanks for visiting today. Sorry I don't visit my fellow Connecticut blogger more often. I can barely keep my nose above water with my own blog, visiting some blogs that I have been following for several years, and the non-blog part of life.

I have some plans to head down to southeastern CT for a day trip sometime before fall, to visit the Florence Griswold and maybe Stonington with my camera. Hope you don't mind if I poach some photos in your neighborhood. (I interpret "Hartford" expansively . . . )

    1. Thanks for the kind words, Jack. I've been following your blog for quite some time now and enjoy your pictures from around the Hartford area. I get up that way often, and need to take some time to do some photography up that way. I keep hearing about the wooden boat show at Essex, always a week late or so. I'll keep an eye out for it next year. You're more than welcome to poach photos from around here. There are more than enough photo opportunities around here, and I'm sure you'll do a much better job that I have done. Just allow me to poach some from around Hartford. ;) Thanks for looking.
